Frederik Naert
I hope you will enjoy the mix of current topics in this issue, ranging
from the maritime field through cyberspace, air and missile warfare
and the Rome Statute amendment on aggression to reports of the
NATO legal conference and a workshop on the use of force in response
to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (organized by
the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War in
cooperation with NATO).
Furthermore, I would like to look ahead to the 50th anniversary of this
Review. To celebrate this anniversary, a dedicated issue of the Review’s
2011 Volume will deal with ‘The Role and Responsibilities of Legal
Advisors in the Armed Forces: Evolution and Present Trends’. Another
issue of the 2011 Volume will mostly concern the current military
operations in Libya. A call for papers covering both of these topics has
already been issued and is available on the International Society for
Military Law and the Law of War’s website (http://www.soc-mil-law.
org). Dr. Matteo Tondini, a member of the editorial board, will be the
Editor-in-Chief for this 2011 Volume of the Review.
Finally, a short questionnaire on the Review is enclosed with the present
Volume. The editorial board is keen to get your views so as to help us
to improve the Review and try to better tailor it to your expectations.
